The 2025 Back to Your Village Food Festival, hosted by Citi FM and Channel One TV, was a tremendous success, drawing food enthusiasts and vendors from across Ghana to celebrate the country’s rich culinary traditions.

Held at the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), the festival featured a vibrant selection of indigenous dishes and local ingredients, with vendors emphasizing cultural pride and sustainability.

Vendors at the event were eager to encourage Ghanaians to incorporate more indigenous foods into their daily meals, highlighting the nutritional, cultural, and economic benefits of consuming locally sourced produce.

Ellen Awo Kata, Founder of Awo Catering Services, couldn’t hide her excitement: “This is actually my fifth time here, and I’ve been attending for a while. It’s not even five o’clock, and the place is already packed! It’s incredible.

“There are families and friends everywhere. If you’re at home, start making your way here. It’s fantastic. I try not to miss any event hosted by Citi FM.”

For some vendors, the festival marked a new but promising experience. “The response has been great – a lot of people are buying our tea. This is our first time vending at the Back to Your Village Food Festival, and we’re hopeful we’ll be back next year,” said Benita, a vendor from Tealays.

Dennis Asiedu Ababio, Founder of Palmie, shared his long-time support for the event: “We’ve been part of this event since the very first day, and this year is even bigger. Yesterday was great, and we expect today to be even better, just like last year.

“We’re in for a long while. We’re committed to being here every year, and we even suggest hosting it twice a year, once now and later in the year. It would give local vendors more opportunities to make sales. The prices are reasonable, and that’s a big reason why we’ve seen such a fantastic turnout.”

The festival’s growing success reflects a deeper appreciation for local food in Ghana, highlighting its crucial role in boosting the economy and preserving cultural identity. The Back to Your Village Food Festival is becoming an unmissable event for both food lovers and local vendors.

Notable sponsors of the 2025 Back to Your Village Food Festival include Jibu, Gino, KOA Natural, Twellium Industries, Pan African Savings and Loans, OCM, and the Contract Cleaners Association of Ghana.
