Dennis Ofosu, manager of legendary music group FBS, has openly expressed confidence that the group deserves to win in all the categories they’ve been nominated for at the 24th edition of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2023 – Best Afrobeats Song and Collaboration of the Year – with their hit single ‘Jo’ featuring Mr Drew.
Released last year as the group’s grand comeback anthem, ‘Jo’ quickly caught fire on TikTok, with creators across the globe jumping on the dance challenge and pushing the song to viral status. The song’s infectious rhythm, rooted in the Ga language where ‘Jo’ literally means dance, proved its name true when thousands of music lovers in the Netherlands couldn’t resist moving to it at the renowned Food Inspiration event.
“We’ve worked tirelessly on this project, and to see it travel so far, touching different audiences and sparking dance movements across continents, is truly rewarding. It shows that our efforts are paying off and that Ghanaian music continues to break boundaries”, Dennis Ofosu stated.
The release of ‘Jo’ has also reignited Ghana’s vibrant dance culture, something FBS has always been known for, where they seamlessly blend music with choreography in a way that excites both the ears and the feet.
And the journey doesn’t stop here. Fans can expect even more energetic and dance-driven bangers from FBS in the near future as they continue to redefine the connection between music and dance in Ghana and beyond.
