The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has announced plans to allocate office space within his palace to the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) before the end of the year.
The announcement was made during a courtesy call by officials from the GTA, led by newly appointed CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto, on May 7. The visit aimed to strengthen ties between the Ga Traditional Council and the GTA, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Homowo festival.
Outlining his vision for the collaboration, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed optimism about its potential impact.
“We want to raise this platform with you and collaborate to see how best we can eradicate hunger within Ghana,” he stated.
Beyond the Homowo celebration, the Ga Mantse emphasized the broader tourism potential of Accra, pointing to underdeveloped sites that could generate revenue if properly invested in. He said establishing a GTA office at the palace would help coordinate tourism efforts more effectively.
Responding to the offer, GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto welcomed the idea and highlighted ongoing efforts to revamp tourist attractions in the Greater Accra Region.
