The One Ghana Movement has presented a plaque to Citi FM and Channel One TV in recognition of their unwavering support and contribution to the Movement’s civic and public interest initiatives.
The organisation lauded the two media outlets for their strong civic voice and instrumental role in promoting public interest journalism in Ghana.
Presenting the plaque to the management of Citi FM and Channel One TV, the Convenor of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi, praised the stations for their impactful partnership and commitment to national development.
“We are here to express appreciation for the support we have had from you and not just us, the entire nation. Citi FM and Channel One TV have proven to be the voice of the voiceless. You have been a great conscience of this nation, and you are a hope for the future of this country, and we want to commend you,” he said.
He also announced the Movement’s upcoming Republic Day Lecture, slated for Thursday, June 30, which will feature former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and renowned Ghanaian diplomat Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas.
“The Republic Day lecture this year is going to be an epic and exciting one. We are supposed to be the Black Star of Africa, and our Founding President was very clear when he said that our independence will be meaningless unless it is linked to the entire liberation of Africa,” he added.
Head of News at Citi FM and Channel One TV, Vivian Kai Lokko, expressed gratitude to the One Ghana Movement for the honour and reaffirmed the stations’ commitment to supporting the Movement’s future initiatives.
“We are happy and also honoured to be part of what you do over the years. We have been part of the lectures that you have been doing, and we are also excited and looking forward to the one that is coming on Thursday,” she stated.
