Quest Int’l University denies having African Campus amid scam concerns

The management of Quest International University (QIU) in Ipoh, Malaysia, has strongly denied claims that the institution has established a campus or satellite office anywhere in Africa.

The university issued the clarification following reports of fraudulent individuals using its name to scam unsuspecting people, particularly in Nigeria and other parts of Africa.

Speaking during a media tour of the QIU campus on Monday, June 23, Vice Chancellor Prof. Zita Mohd Fahmi firmly dismissed the allegations.

“We don’t have any campus or office in Africa. We have only one campus, which is in Ipoh — and not anywhere else,” she stated.

Prof. Zita cautioned the public, especially Africans, against falling for fraudulent schemes that falsely claim affiliation with the university.

“Don’t fall for people who claim to be representing us in Africa,” she warned.

She also highlighted the university’s legitimate outreach efforts, noting that QIU maintains partnerships and collaborations with reputable institutions around the world to enhance its academic offerings.

She encouraged African students interested in studying abroad to apply directly through the university’s official online platforms.

“Our fees are affordable, and we continue to invite students from other countries to apply for some of our programmes. Ipoh is a beautiful place to live and our university offers a diverse range of quality education programmes that are accredited and recognised.

“We have a dedicated team of lecturers who are ready to impart knowledge and guide students to fulfil their potential,” She said.

Prof. Zita reiterated that QIU remains committed to offering high-quality education and maintaining transparency in all its dealings.

As part of the media tour, journalists from eight West African countries, including Ghana, visited the university’s state-of-the-art science laboratories. The facilities include advanced research tools that support the university’s growing body of research into plant-based medicine and other groundbreaking scientific ventures.
