In a grand and historic ceremony held at The Avenue, Burma Hills, Accra, Nana Yaa Siriboe and Olive Naa Asheley Addo were officially inaugurated as District Governor (DG) and District Rotaract Representative (DRR) for Rotary International District 9104.
This milestone event marked the first-ever joint investiture in the district’s history, with both leaders being women who succeeded equally accomplished female predecessors.
During the ceremony, both DG Nana Yaa and DRR Olive outlined their shared vision for the new Rotary year, emphasizing unity, impactful projects, ethical leadership, and strategic collaboration.
“Our goal is to make a lasting difference in our communities and beyond through meaningful actions and partnerships,” DG Nana Yaa stated. She reaffirmed her alignment with the Rotary International theme for the year: “Unite for Good.”
Under their leadership, District 9104 will continue advancing service projects in critical areas such as education, environmental sustainability, water and sanitation, and youth development.
A key highlight is the district’s expansion, now comprising over 70 Rotary clubs and 59 Rotaract clubs—a significant increase from the previous year.
DG Nana Yaa also serves as Chief Operating Officer of Morning Star School Limited. Her humanitarian initiatives have supported institutions such as the Osu Children’s Home and New Horizon School, and she has played a pivotal role in Rotary’s Family Health Days, delivering essential healthcare to thousands.
As a charter member of the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone and a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, she is a regular participant in District Training Assemblies and Rotary International Conventions.
Her leadership is defined by compassion, vision, and a steadfast commitment to Rotary’s values.
DRR Olive Naa Asheley Addo is a transformational leader with nearly a decade of dedicated service to Rotaract.
She has served as Club President and Assistant District Rotaract Representative and now assumes her role as District Rotaract Representative for District 9104.
Olive is widely known for her strategic foresight, proactive leadership, and passion for community development.
She has successfully chartered new Rotaract clubs, revitalized struggling ones, and participated in numerous international Rotaract events.
As a certified Human Resources professional, she brings a wealth of experience in youth leadership, organizational development, and strategic planning, positioning her to deliver exceptional results during her tenure.
DG Nana Yaa expressed her deep appreciation for the commitment of Rotarians to service, international understanding, and peacebuilding.
She emphasized the need to elevate the Rotary experience by maximizing impact, expanding reach, and adapting for sustained growth.
Reaffirming the message “Unite for Good,” she described it as a powerful call to fellowship, shared purpose, and measurable impact. She also acknowledged the district’s continued contribution to the global campaign to eradicate polio.
Guest Speaker and Trustee Ijeoma Pearl Okoro (Rotary Foundation) delivered a powerful keynote address. “Continuity is not about uniformity—it’s about alignment. Support the new leadership. Our membership and contributions have steadily increased over the past three years, and this progress must continue.”
She encouraged Rotarians to pursue funding and innovation. “We must write grants, go through the necessary rigours, seek partners, and tap into The Rotary Foundation (TRF). Our service builds public trust, and this draws more support. Let’s donate, raise awareness, and help erase polio from the world.”
Addressing leadership transitions, she stressed, “Every leader has a unique style. There is no room for comparison. One person alone cannot unite; unity requires all of us. Together, in spirit and in love, change will begin—not only in our clubs and communities but within ourselves.”
She concluded by affirming Rotary’s enduring ideals: “As People of Action, we build meaningful relationships across borders and generations. Guided by the Four-Way Test, we adapt and innovate. We will take the Rotary message wherever we go to create lasting change.”
The investiture ceremony featured the formal handover of leadership, recognition of outgoing and incoming officers, and a celebration of Rotary’s enduring legacy.
It served as a powerful reminder of the shared commitment to community transformation.
DG Nana Yaa expressed heartfelt thanks to her family, the Rotary Club of Accra-Labone, fellow Rotarians, and her alma mater, Wesley Girls’ High School, for their unwavering support.
In her inaugural remarks, DRR Olive stated, “We are moving forward to build on a strong legacy. If we truly unite for good, there are no limits to what we can achieve. It is our heart for service and unity of purpose that will define this year.”
PDG Maame Florence Hagan shared a message of encouragement for DG Nana Yaa, saying, “Remember, you are not alone. You are surrounded by the Rotary family around the world. Trust in the power of Rotary to change lives—starting with your own.”
The event was graced by Past District Governors, club leaders, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and guests from across Ghana and beyond—all united in celebration of this new chapter in District 9104’s journey of service and impact.
