Excitement and appreciation filled APCE Demonstration ‘C’ School on Monday, January 26, 2026, as the school officially unveiled a newly painted classroom block and ceiling fans donated by the APCE Old Students Association, Year 2002 group.
The intervention, which has improved both the learning environment and the physical appearance of the school, drew several dignitaries, including the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Sarah Amoakoa; the Assembly Member for the New Town Electoral Area, Emmanuel Sarkodie; representatives of the Agogo Traditional Council; officials from the Municipal Education Directorate; and members of the 2002 Year Group.
Speakers at the event commended the old students for their generosity and commitment to supporting education.
They urged school authorities, teachers, and pupils to develop a strong maintenance culture to preserve the new facilities.
Pupils were also encouraged to take full advantage of the improved environment to enhance academic performance.
The Headteacher, Augustine Kwanin, expressed gratitude to the group, describing the project as a timely and impactful contribution that has boosted morale among staff and pupils.
He appealed to other old students’ associations, philanthropists, corporate organisations, and well-meaning individuals to support the school’s additional needs, including a fully equipped ICT laboratory, a functional library, and more teaching and learning materials.
Speaking on behalf of the 2002 Year Group, Dr. Prince Osei Amoako of the St. Edward Catholic Hospital, Adugyama, and Head of the Anaesthesia Department, said the initiative was driven by their desire to give back to their alma mater and promote quality education.
In her address, the MCE reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to completing all ongoing projects in the municipality.
She assured that the Assembly would see to the completion of existing projects and renovation works, while calling on individuals and corporate bodies to support local development efforts.
She also praised the old students for their thoughtful contribution to the school.
The ceremony, though brief, ended on a hopeful note, with renewed calls for collaboration among stakeholders to advance the holistic development of APCE Demonstration ‘C’ School.
