The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gas Company, Judith Adjoba Blay, has assured the Minister for Energy, John Abu Jinapor, of the company’s commitment to complete its ongoing planned maintenance shutdown within the scheduled 10 days to restore gas supply for electricity generation.
Welcoming the Minister to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant to inspect the maintenance works, the CEO explained that although some of the tasks are first-time maintenance works, the technical team remains determined to meet the deadline.
“Some of the major works we are doing for this shutdown are works that we have never done. Major works are ongoing. We are really glad that you are here to witness it. We also targeted that we will deliver the plant back to you within a certain period.
“You have given us 10 days. We are working extensively on that, and we will surprise you and call you even before the 10 days to tell you that the plant is back on,” she assured, speaking to the media on Wednesday, August 20.
The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition announced on Monday, August 11, a two-week shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region for scheduled maintenance, aimed at boosting efficiency and ensuring long-term operational safety.
Throughout the period, gas supply from the facility has been suspended to allow for comprehensive inspections, repairs, and upgrades to critical systems.
