The Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) says it has not yet received formal communication from the Office of the Presidential Envoy for Interfaith and Ecumenical Relations regarding the proposed review of prophecies of national significance.
The clarification comes in the wake of viral videos on social media following the August 6 helicopter crash that killed eight people, including two cabinet ministers.
In the videos, some self-proclaimed men of God claimed they had foreseen the crash in visions and issued warnings that were ignored.
On Sunday, August 10, the Office of the Presidential Envoy urged religious leaders to formally submit any prophecy or spiritual insight concerning high-profile political figures, governance, national security, or public stability.
Speaking to Citi News the same day, GPCC General Secretary, Apostle Immanuel Tettey, said the Council would respond once the directive is officially communicated in writing.
“GPCC normally will not have such controversial prophecies in the public domain. We have spoken to our member churches and leaders. If it is written to us, we will seek clarification with the Office and know the way forward,” he said.
