The Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, has assured constituents that the long-abandoned La General Hospital project will be completed before the end of 2028.
The hospital was demolished in 2020 to make way for redevelopment. However, work on the project has since stalled due to funding and administrative delays, even under the previous Akufo-Addo administration.
During a visit to the site on Tuesday, August 5, she reiterated her commitment to ensuring the project’s completion.
According to her, the Mahama administration would prioritise the hospital, adding that President Mahama has not turned his back on the people of La.
“The work was ongoing when we came into power, but the certificates raised are yet to be honoured. I believe in two years the work will be complete.
“We are about 30% done so far. In two years, I hope the project will be completed so that we will be able to use the health facility,” she stated.
