Two young brothers have been recognized for their innovative mission to transform how Africa addresses its challenges.
Osei Yaw Kyei and Isaac Anto Kyei, founders of Nationton Information Technology, have built an unconventional path from a campus initiative to the launch of Nationton Republic and TheFOJ Application, an advanced digital platform designed to inspire and empower problem solvers. Their vision is to make problem-solving a culture in Ghana, across Africa, and beyond.
By focusing on practical solutions and leveraging technology, the Kyei brothers are promoting a new mindset, one where everyday challenges are met with creativity, skill, entrepreneurial spirit, and solutions.
Osei Yaw and Isaac Anto have been guided by a clear purpose: to unlock human potential, starting from Africa, through a culture of problem-solving. Projects they undertake reflect this conviction, aiming to liberate people from everyday obstacles and create opportunities for success.
Nationton Republic, the platform they built, was designed with this mission in mind. In their view, each solved problem sparks momentum for the next, setting off a chain of positive change.
In 2013, they began the journey of Nationton, when Osei Yaw, then a student at the University of Ghana, launched Nationton Researching Crews, a grassroots initiative where students applied classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. Frustrated with formal education where passing exams rather than solving real-world problems is the focus, he sought practical ways to solve community problems.
Without formal training in computer science, Osei taught himself to code and within three weeks of focusing on coding, he was able to code. He quickly began building digital solutions. He then mentored his brother, Isaac, who is now pursuing a master’s degree in Multimedia and Technology at New York University in the United States.
This self-driven approach to learning and collaboration became a defining feature of their journey. Rather than waiting for resources or joining established firms, the brothers became creators early on, adding to the general observation that passion and determination play a major role in making breakthroughs.
By 2016, the campus project had grown into a formal enterprise. The brothers are co-founders of Nationton Information Technology and builders of Nationton Republic. The platform demonstrates both their technical ability and its commitment to providing tailored solutions to local challenges.
Today, Nationton Republic is the company’s flagship product. Designed as a multipurpose hub, it provides entrepreneurs, organizations, and individuals with tools to establish an online presence, reach global markets, and grow their initiatives. It supports areas such as marketing, e-commerce, and professional networking, translating the brothers’ problem-solving philosophy into a practical platform for users.
The Kyei brothers emphasize the importance of education and continuous learning. They credit their success not only to lecture halls but to hands-on experimentation, self-teaching, and persistence. They have also called for an educational shift in Ghana, advocating for a system that prioritizes creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving over rote memorization.
At Nationton, challenges are embraced as learning opportunities. By sharing their journey, how one student taught himself coding within weeks and inspired another, the brothers encourage African youth to pursue self-empowerment through knowledge and skills development. Their message is clear: “With the right mindset, students can become innovators and job creators rather than job seekers”.
What began as a modest student initiative has grown into a platform with tangible impact. Through Nationton Republic and TheFOJ Application, entrepreneurs and small businesses, developers in Ghana have a digital platform for visibility, connection with customers, and income generation in an increasingly digital economy.
With features such as business pages and an online marketplace, the platform fosters collaboration and opens opportunities for many. The Kyei brothers see Nationton Republic as part of a broader vision to empower African youth. “Problem solving is what all our services and strategies are about. You will love Nationton Republic if you love smart ways of solving problems,” the brothers affirm.
From a university project to a popular tech platform, the brothers’ journey reflects vision, perseverance, and integrity. Guided by their ethos, “Good is the purpose; truth is our way; problem solving is the work”, they have built not only a company but also a community for problem solvers.

As they continue to expand Nationton’s reach, Osei Yaw and Isaac Kyei represent a new generation of African technologists: innovators who combine skill, creativity, and values to turn challenges into opportunities. Their journey is still unfolding, but it already stands as a compelling example of how a clear mission and an unwavering belief in human potential can drive lasting change.
Looking ahead, Osei Yaw and Isaac Anto aim to expand their platform further and form partnerships with organizations to extend their impact across Africa and the rest of the world.
