The Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has announced plans to file a series of motions in Parliament to initiate hearings on the creation of jobs for the youth.
According to him, the motions are intended to compel state institutions to design and implement policies aimed at addressing the growing challenge of youth unemployment across the country.
Mahama Ayariga made this known at a Leaders’ Media Briefing in Parliament on Wednesday, October 22, stressing that sustainable job creation must remain a top priority in the government’s development agenda.
“I agree we need to create more jobs, and if you listened to me on October 21, I was very candid on that, that the youth need more jobs. But jobs can only be created on the foundation of a sound economic framework.
“I plan to bring some motions to call for some hearings on job creation for the youth. It’s a very important agenda that must be pursued by this house, which is to push the various institutions of state to try and design policies and practices that will create jobs.”
