Ghana’s new High Commissioner to Canada, Dora Francisca Edu‑Buandoh, formally assumed her duties on Wednesday, 25th November 2025, after presenting her Letters of Credence at Rideau Hall in Ottawa.
The ceremony took place at Rideau Hall, where Justice Suzanne Côté, Deputy Governor General of Canada, received the credentials on behalf of the Right Honourable May J. Simon, Governor General of Canada.
The presentation also included the Letters of Recall of her predecessor, marking the official transition and reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations with Canada.

With her accreditation now complete, High Commissioner Edu‑Buandoh is set to advance Ghana’s economic, cultural, and diplomatic interests in Canada. Her mandate will focus on promoting investment in key sectors such as energy, mining, agriculture, and technology, while also boosting opportunities for Ghanaian exports in the Canadian market.
She will prioritise educational and cultural partnerships, fostering people‑to‑people connections and strengthening mutual understanding between the two nations. Beyond bilateral engagement, High Commissioner Edu‑Buandoh will actively participate in Canada’s diplomatic community and international organizations in Ottawa, ensuring Ghana’s voice is represented on global issues including peace, democracy, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
The presentation of Letters of Credence marks a new chapter in Ghana–Canada relations, setting the stage for enhanced cooperation and reaffirming the longstanding friendship and shared values between the two countries
