Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu, the family head of the legendary highlife musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, widely known as Daddy Lumba, is urging the public to disregard any information suggesting a change in the date for his funeral.
According to him, the officially agreed-upon date for the funeral remains December 13, 2025, as proposed by the traditional leaders, and nothing has changed.
Despite the controversies surrounding the funeral date, fueled by conflicting information, including some billboards announcing March 12, 2026 instead of December 13, 2025, he insists that the funeral will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
“We have not changed any date; the funeral will take place on December 13 as announced,” he said.
He expressed concern over the level of controversy the funeral arrangements have attracted, stressing that it is simply a burial ceremony and not a matter of property sharing.
He described the ongoing disputes as unnecessary and overwhelming.
Meanwhile, a pro-fan club calling itself the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the funeral arrangements regardless of the challenges.
According to the group’s PRO, Yaw Appiah, although the controversies are unfortunate, their support remains unwavering.
He added that the known and accepted date for the funeral is December 13, unless the family decides otherwise.
He appealed to the general public to offer their support to ensure a befitting burial and funeral rites for the music legend.
