Ashanti Region: Six dead in fatal accident on Offinso–Abofuor road

Six people have died in a gory road accident involving a trailer loaded with cement and a commercial passenger bus on the Offinso–Abofuor highway in the Ashanti Region.

The crash occurred around 4:00 am on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, between the Sompraso and Awisam stretches of the road.

The accident involved a trailer with registration number GN 5326-22 and a commercial bus with registration number GT 5509-20.

Several other passengers sustained critical injuries and were rushed to St. Patrick’s Hospital at Offinso-Maase for treatment.

The bodies of the deceased have also been deposited at the hospital’s morgue.

The police have launched investigations into the incident.
