The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency and Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Yusif Sulemana, has donated more than 500 LED streetlights to the Bole District Assembly in the Savannah Region, to enhance visibility, improve security and boost economic activity across communities.
Presenting the items, Sulemana said the initiative forms part of his efforts to promote safety and ensure a secure environment for residents within the constituency.
He noted that improved street lighting would help deter criminal activity and support business operations at night.
The Bole District Chief Executive, Mahamud Abdulai, received the streetlights on behalf of the Electoral Area Coordinators and expressed appreciation for the gesture.
He urged the coordinators to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to ensure the sustainability of the streetlights and contribute to the district’s development.
Some Electoral Area Coordinators said they frequently receive complaints from residents about suspicious activities in poorly lit areas.
They described the donation as timely and commended the Member of Parliament for responding promptly to concerns about insecurity and poor visibility in parts of the constituency.
