At least three people have been burnt beyond recognition following a fuel tanker accident in the early hours of Saturday, February 14, on the Nsawam–Accra highway.

Preliminary reports indicate that the tanker was involved in a collision that triggered a massive blaze, setting about five vehicles and five motor bikes ablaze upon impact. Thick plumes of smoke billowed from the scene, alarming motorists and nearby residents.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service(GNFS) are at the scene working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.

The incident has caused significant traffic disruption along the busy stretch, with motorists advised to exercise extreme caution and consider alternative routes while firefighting and recovery operations continue.
