The Volta Regional House of Chiefs (VRHC) is set for major infrastructural upgrades following a courtesy visit by Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, and Eric Kutortse, Executive Chairman of First Sky Group, on Friday, February 13.
The delegation visited the House to thank traditional authorities for their support during the company’s recent thanksgiving service and to discuss ways to enhance the facility. The engagement also recognised the enduring role of chiefs in promoting unity, stability, and development across the region.
Mr Gunu pledged to facilitate a modern facelift of the House of Chiefs building and to install streetlights around the premises to improve security, visibility, and the overall environment. He commended the chiefs as indispensable partners in governance and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with traditional authorities and the private sector to accelerate sustainable development.
Mr Kutortse, on behalf of First Sky Group, pledged to asphalt the internal roads and compound of the House, a project scheduled to begin in May. He said the improvements would enhance accessibility, traffic flow, and the overall outlook of the facility.
The visit drew a large turnout of traditional leaders, including 24 Paramount Chiefs led by Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, President of the House and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area. Togbe Tepre Hodo IV expressed gratitude to First Sky Group for its continued support in infrastructure development and philanthropy, urging sustained partnerships to advance regional progress.
As a gesture of appreciation, the delegation presented items in cash and kind to the chiefs and the House. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to work together to promote peace, progress, and prosperity in the Volta Region.
