Benopcaf Catering Services, a vendor at this year’s Back to Your Village Food Festival, has commended Citi FM and Channel One TV for creating a platform that highlights Ghanaian cuisine to a global audience.
Speaking on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV on Tuesday, March 31, the Marketing Manager of Benopcaf Catering Services, Diamond Abgonuglah Doamekpor, described the initiative as timely and impactful, particularly in promoting awareness of local dishes among younger generations.
“It is an important event that we should continue. A lot of us, especially the younger ones, don’t know much about the local delicacies we have. This platform, created by Channel One TV and Citi FM to showcase Ghanaian food to both locals and the world, is a wonderful idea. There is no way we would not support it,” she said
She further noted that the festival also serves as a boost for local tourism, offering an avenue to present Ghana’s rich culinary diversity to visitors.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to showcase what we have as Ghanaians to the world. So when tourists come in, they get to know the different types of meals that we have,” she added.
She also described this year’s edition as one of the most successful yet, despite early weather concerns on day two
“The pressure was from morning to evening. People queue for food, and the recommendation that we get was amazing,” she said
For two vibrant days, Citi FM and Channel One TV’s Back to Your Village Food Festival transformed the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park into a living showcase of Ghana’s cultural and economic potential.
Powered by Channel One TV with support from Citi FM, the festival was sponsored by Ecobank, Gino, Didi Shito, Munchee Biscuits, Jibu Ghana, Twellium Industries, the National Petroleum Authority, and Everpack.
