Bolt Ghana today [March 26] hosted a safety and compliance engagement session for 30 top-performing motorbike riders, reinforcing its commitment to rider welfare, regulatory alignment, and road safety within the growing two-wheel mobility ecosystem.
Under the theme “Steering Toward Safety: Empowering the Two-Wheel Revolution,” the session brought together riders and company leadership and strengthened understanding around defensive riding practices and emergency support tools.
The programme emphasised full Class A licensing compliance, education on road signage and speed limits, and training on in-app SOS and dispute resolution tools designed to enhance rider and passenger safety.
Teddy Appa Dankyi, Senior General Manager, West Africa, said, “As the two-wheel category continues to grow, safety remains our highest priority. This initiative reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with riders and regulators to build a structured and responsible mobility ecosystem ahead of time.”
One of the participating riders, Mireku Samuel Oteng, shared his experience, stating, “On the road, we face a lot of challenges, from difficult road conditions to sometimes being disrespected by customers. It’s not always easy, but safety must always come first. I encourage my fellow riders to follow road safety rules and avoid speeding at all times. I also want to commend Bolt for bringing us together to listen to our concerns and support us. The safety gear provided, like the helmets and reflective vests, will go a long way in protecting us.”
The session concluded with a safety pledge and the handover of DOT-certified helmets and reflective vests to participating riders.
Bolt continues to invest in training, technology, and regulatory engagement to ensure that growth in the motorbike category is matched by strengthened safety standards.
