Ecobank, a major sponsor of the 2026 ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival, says its support is aimed at promoting Ghanaian culture and helping citizens reconnect with their roots.
The festival, scheduled for March 28–29 at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park, is expected to deliver an immersive cultural experience that goes beyond a typical food fair, with a strong emphasis on traditional cuisine, music, and heritage.
Speaking ahead of the event on Breakfast Daily on Channel One TV on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Head of Marketing and Brands at Ecobank, Regina Ofori, said the bank’s decision to partner with the festival reflects its commitment to community engagement and cultural promotion.
“For us at Ecobank, the decision is for us to help our community. We support anything that promotes culture, unity, and also gets people to live their best lives and enjoy life. That is what we stand for,” she said.
She explained that the partnership also seeks to help Ghanaians reconnect with their cultural identity, particularly through shared experiences centred on food and tradition.
“So it is our way to get people to come ‘back to their village’ to enjoy some of the things they may have forgotten—or some don’t even know at all—by reconnecting back to our culture, back to our base,” she added.
The ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival has positioned itself as a cultural revival event, celebrating Ghana’s diverse heritage while creating opportunities for people to rediscover traditional lifestyles and practices.
“That is why we are here—to allow more Ghanaians to have that opportunity to enjoy things they may not know exist in Ghana,” Ofori noted.
Running daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the festival is designed to be more than just entertainment, serving as a deliberate effort to revive cultural appreciation.
Unlike typical food fairs, organisers say this edition stands out for its focus on authenticity and nostalgia, offering attendees a chance to rediscover the “original tastes” of their upbringing.
Combining cuisine, music, storytelling, and heritage, the 2026 ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival is shaping up as a landmark cultural experience aimed at reconnecting Ghanaians with their roots and identity.
The event is powered by Channel One TV, supported by Citi FM, and sponsored by Ecobank, Gino, Didi Shito, Munchee Biscuits, and Everpack.
