The 10th edition of the Heritage Caravan rolled deeper into Ghana’s heartland on Monday, March 2, 2026, as patrons crossed the Dambai Ferry in the Oti Region, pushing northward toward Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.

The ferry ride across the River Oti was more than just a crossing — it was a symbolic passage from one cultural landscape to another. As the convoy edged steadily toward northern Ghana, the calm waters and open skies offered a scenic pause before the long drive ahead.

Speaking on Citi Prime News, Head of News at Citi FM/Channel One TV, Nana Tuffour Boateng, captured the electric mood among participants.

“It’s been totally exhilarating. It’s just day two of the 2026 Heritage Caravan, but patrons are super excited about the various activities we’ve been engaging in. We just crossed the Volta Lake using a ferry from Dambai to the other side, where we are going to drive to Bimbilla and continue our journey to Bolgatanga, where we will spend the night,” he said.

From the ferry, the caravan moved on to Bimbilla, where patrons were welcomed with hearty local flavours and cultural flair. Plates of angwamo prepared with Nana’s Rice were served alongside pork, kosua ne mɛko, smoked catfish sausage, and refreshing local drinks — a feast that blended comfort with tradition. The culinary experience was matched by a vibrant display of culture, turning the stopover into a celebration of northern hospitality.

Organised by Channel One TV and Citi FM, the 2026 Heritage Caravan began on Sunday, March 1, with departure from Accra to Safari Eco Valley Resort in the Eastern Region. The opening day climaxed with dinner and live highlife music by the Nkyinkyin Band at the Royal City Hotel.

Running from March 1 to 8, the eight-day tour will traverse 14 regions, showcasing Ghana’s cultural, culinary and musical diversity. To mark a decade of the Caravan, this year’s edition has been expanded to four buses, significantly increasing participation and amplifying the scale of activities.

The Heritage Caravan continues to blend adventure with identity — connecting landscapes, communities and stories — as it journeys through Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, Oti and beyond.

Corporate partners, including GOIL, Multi Pro Company, OmniBisc, Didi Shito, Gino Tomato Paste, Nana Rice, Caveman Watches, Hollard Insurance and Peeva Beverage,s are supporting the experience with product activations and sampling, adding colour and energy to the celebration on wheels.
