Patrons of the 2026 Heritage Caravan on Wednesday, March 4, journeyed deep into the heart of the Savannah Region, where wilderness and history met in a memorable stop at Mole National Park.

Under the vast northern sky, the group embarked on a guided walking tour through the sprawling savannah landscape, encountering wildlife in its natural habitat.

Towering elephants moved gracefully across the plains, while different species of monkeys darted between trees.

Beyond the game walk, the caravan explored significant cultural landmarks within and around the park. Guides shared captivating stories about the area’s ecological importance and historical background, enriching the experience with context and tradition.

A standout moment of the day was the visit to the famous Mystic Stone, a naturally formed rock with a striking mushroom-like shape. Participants eagerly took photographs while listening to the folklore and geological explanations behind one of the region’s most intriguing landmarks.

The group also paid a visit to the historic Larabanga Mosque, widely regarded as one of the oldest mosques in West Africa. Patrons toured the ancient Sudanese-style structure and received briefings on its architectural uniqueness and enduring spiritual significance.

Throughout the excursion, cameras clicked continuously as participants captured moments of awe, laughter and discovery—immersing themselves in both nature and Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.

The Savannah experience forms part of a broader itinerary for this year’s caravan, which runs from March 1 to 8, 2026, covering 14 regions across the country.

Marking a decade of the initiative, the 2026 edition has expanded to four buses, significantly increasing participation and broadening its scope.

The event is supported by corporate sponsors including GOIL, Multi Pro Company, OmniBisc, Didi Shito, Gino Tomato Paste, Nana’s Rice, Caveman, Hollard Insurance and Peeva Beverages. Through product sampling and activations, the brands are adding a vibrant commercial touch to the cultural celebration.
