Ghanaian diplomat, policy strategist and entrepreneur, Edmond Boateng has been elected Secretary of the Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana (HCCGH).

This marks a significant development in the leadership of the country’s diplomatic and consular community. His election is expected to sharpen institutional efficiency, improve strategic coordination and deepen engagement between Ghana and its international partners through the Corps.

With nearly three decades of experience across diplomacy, public policy and international business development, Boateng brings extensive expertise to the role. He is the Founder of the Evimeria Group and President of the EkB Foundation, organisations recognised for advancing economic cooperation and community-driven initiatives.

As Secretary, Boateng will oversee the Secretariat and coordinate the administrative functions of the Corps. His responsibilities include supervising programme implementation, maintaining official records, and supporting the preparation of annual reports and communications to members.

Speaking after his election, Boateng underscored the need to strengthen collaboration within the Corps and enhance its role in Ghana’s diplomatic and economic agenda.

“The Honorary Consular Corps remains a vital bridge between Ghana and the international community. My focus will be on improving coordination, communication, and visibility of the impactful work being done by members across various jurisdictions.”

His election comes at a time when Ghana is intensifying economic diplomacy and expanding bilateral engagements, particularly in trade, investment and academic collaboration.

Boateng is also expected to use the position to foster stronger institutional linkages between foreign missions, government agencies and private sector actors, while reinforcing Ghana’s standing as a hub for diplomacy and international cooperation in West Africa.

His elevation has been widely welcomed within diplomatic and business circles, with stakeholders expressing confidence in his ability to bring structure, innovation and renewed energy to the Secretariat.
