The Bono Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has commenced investigations into the fire outbreak that gutted the Sunyani Circuit Court and District Court B Complex.
The blaze on Sunday, April 26, destroyed the facility, leaving courtrooms in ruins with debris scattered across the premises.
Key items, including case files, record books, computers, and other office equipment, were lost in the fire. Wooden benches and other furnishings were also burnt beyond recognition.
Speaking to Citi News, the Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Command of the GNFS, ADOI Kwame Adomako Antwi, confirmed that investigations had begun but cautioned against speculation on the cause of the fire.
“Investigation is ongoing, but I wouldn’t want to pinpoint a particular cause at the moment. We are not in a rush; we have to take our time. It’s very dicey. But three things will be at the back of the minds of the investigators,” he said.
The Fire Service says a detailed assessment will be conducted to determine the exact cause of the incident.
