The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that the final Hajj flight scheduled to depart from Tamale on Saturday, May 9, 2026, has been rescheduled to leave from Accra on Monday, May 11, 2026.
In a press statement issued on Friday, May 8, the office explained that the decision was taken due to a reduction in the number of pilgrims expected to board the final Tamale flight, which fell below the minimum requirement under airline operational regulations.
According to the statement, the affected pilgrims will now be airlifted as part of flights departing from Accra on Monday, May 11.
The office indicated that all affected pilgrims and their agents have already been informed about the changes.
“The adjustment is in line with operational guidelines and is intended to ensure efficiency in the airlifting process,” the statement noted.
The PAOG also expressed appreciation to stakeholders, including agents, officials and the general public, for their support during the Tamale phase of the Hajj operations.
The office further commended pilgrims from Tamale for their discipline and compliance with directives regarding luggage, reporting times and general conduct, which it said contributed to a smooth and successful exercise.
As Hajj operations move to Accra, the office urged prospective pilgrims to maintain the same level of discipline by adhering strictly to reporting times, observing luggage regulations and avoiding prohibited items.
The PAOG expressed optimism about a successful Accra phase of the Hajj operations and appealed to all stakeholders to continue cooperating to ensure a smooth process.
