Stay in NDC despite hardship, don’t undermine your gov’t — Asiedu Nketiah

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged party supporters in the Zabzugu Constituency to remain loyal and patient, insisting that internal frustrations must not translate into actions that weaken the party in power.

He made the appeal on Tuesday, May 19, when he met constituency executives and members, where concerns were raised about employment opportunities and perceived delays in the distribution of political benefits under the current administration.

Addressing the gathering, he acknowledged the concerns but cautioned supporters not to lose morale, stressing that political rewards are not distributed evenly or simultaneously, even within the same government cycle.

“You don’t all reap your benefit at the same time because whatever happens, you cannot have opportunities to go around everybody at the same time and in the same year. Some would have to benefit today, and then tomorrow will be your turn,” he said.

As part of his argument, he drew a contrast with the opposition, referencing the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, Mahmudu Bawumia, and questioning whether aggrieved supporters would secure better opportunities if they abandoned the NDC for another administration.

He further cautioned that whatever difficulties supporters were experiencing under the current government were still preferable to disengaging from the party and taking actions that could undermine its work, insisting that unity remained critical to delivering on campaign promises.
