Two persons have died in a fatal accident involving a tipper truck at Senchi in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 28, near the Senchi market area when a tipper truck with registration number GR 2135-22 reportedly overturned under unclear circumstances.

A joint Police and Fire Service rescue team, which was first at the scene, confirmed that the two occupants of the vehicle died on the spot.

The accident caused a major traffic build-up along the stretch for several hours. However, police have since cleared the scene, restoring normal vehicular movement.

Police have begun investigations into the crash to determine what led to the accident.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify the deceased. Their bodies have been deposited at the morgue for preservation and further investigation.
