Two people have reportedly died, while several others sustained injuries after armed men attacked a passenger bus at Nasia, near Walewale in the North East Region.

The incident is reported to have occurred while the bus was travelling from Kumasi to Zibila.

Details surrounding the attack remain unclear, but initial accounts from the scene suggest the assailants were heavily armed.

Some eyewitnesses believe the attackers may have been armed robbers. The identities of the deceased and the injured have not yet been released, and authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Security agencies are expected to launch investigations into the attack as residents and commuters in the area express growing concerns over safety along the route.
