UCC appoints Prof. Denis Aheto as new Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed Professor Denis Worlanyo Aheto as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.

Professor Aheto, who currently serves as the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor, will officially assume office on 1st August 2026.

The appointment was announced in a notice issued by the UCC Council Secretariat following a Special Meeting held on 15th May 2026.

According to the statement, the decision was made by the Governing Council to confirm Professor Aheto as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university.

The announcement was signed by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, Esq.
