The National Coordinator of the Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Programme (rCOMSDEP), Ms Mawusi Ama Mawuenyafia, has urged students, particularly women, to be bold and purposeful in pursuing their ambitions.

She made the call on Thursday, June 25, 2026, while addressing the Women of Valor and Influence Conference organised by the TEIN Chapter of the Ghana Communication Technology University at the Silicon Valley Auditorium.

Speaking on the theme, “Bold, Purposeful and Influential: Shaping the Next Generation of Women Leaders,” Ms Mawuenyafia stressed that boldness is not about being fearless.

“Boldness is recognizing that the cost of inaction is greater than the cost of failure,” she stated.

She also encouraged students to remain purposeful in everything they do, saying purpose is the foundation of lasting influence.

“Purpose is what keeps you standing when everything else is shaking around you. You cannot be influential without being purposeful. Purpose gives you direction, and more than that, purpose gives you resilience,” she added.

Ms Mawuenyafia further advised members of the women’s wing of TEIN-GCTU not to allow past mistakes to define their future.

“Mistakes make us human. There’s no time to waste on the past. I’ve made mistakes too, but I learnt from them and moved on. You are the next generation of women leaders. Stand firm, define what you stand for, and let your values guide you,” she charged.

The conference also featured other prominent women in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), including the Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, and the Greater Accra Deputy TEIN Coordinator, Naa Ayele Hammond.
