Building Bytes and Road To Green are set to bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and sustainability advocates in June for a new edition of Demo Friday focused on how circular economy solutions can help drive Ghana’s economic growth.

The event, themed “Saving Kantamanto: Sustainable Innovations to Build Ghana’s Economy,” will explore how environmental challenges can be transformed into opportunities for job creation, enterprise development and industrial growth.

Scheduled for June 26, 2026, at the ALX Tech Hub at One Airport Square in Accra, the event will examine innovative approaches to waste management, recycling, resource recovery and sustainable production systems, with a particular focus on the role of the circular economy in building a more resilient Ghanaian economy.

Named after the iconic Kantamanto Market, a major hub in the global second-hand clothing trade, the discussion comes at a time when climate resilience, responsible consumption and green entrepreneurship are gaining increasing attention across Ghana and the wider African continent.

Participants will explore practical solutions being developed by startups, businesses, community organisations and industry leaders to tackle challenges ranging from textile waste and plastic pollution to recycling infrastructure and sustainable supply chains.

Organisers say the event aims to move beyond awareness by highlighting scalable innovations capable of strengthening local industries while promoting environmental sustainability. Discussions will also focus on how collaboration among government, the private sector, development organisations and entrepreneurs can accelerate the growth of Ghana’s circular economy.

According to the organisers, sustainability should be viewed not only as an environmental responsibility but also as an economic opportunity capable of creating jobs, supporting local manufacturing and unlocking new markets for innovative businesses.

Demo Friday has become known for convening diverse stakeholders to discuss issues shaping Ghana’s future through conversations, demonstrations and networking opportunities designed to turn ideas into action and foster impactful partnerships.
