Dr Issahaku Tahiru eyes NPP National Treasurer role

Former Wa Municipal Chief Executive and chartered accountant, Dr Issahaku Moomin Tahiru, has announced his intention to contest for the position of National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) when nominations are officially opened.

According to Dr Tahiru, his decision to contest for the National Treasurer position has been warmly received by party members across various networks and platforms.

He cited his expertise in public financial management, fundraising, business networking, and investment as qualities that position him strongly for the role.

Furthermore, he pointed to his experience as a former MCE and head of the NPP constituency campaign team in Wa Central as evidence of his understanding of both financial administration and party organisation.

“If elected, I will leverage my corporate and public sector experience to strengthen the party’s financial management and resource mobilisation efforts,” Dr. Tahiru said in a statement.

Dr Tahiru, who served as Municipal Chief Executive for the Wa Municipal Assembly for eight years, said he is seeking the position to bring his extensive experience in financial management, fundraising and administration to the party.

He previously contested as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Wa Central Constituency in both the 2012 and 2016 general elections.

Dr Tahiru has held several positions in both the public and private sectors. He worked as an accountant at the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department and previously served with the Ghana Revenue Authority.

He also worked with the Ghana Health Service as Head of Finance in various health facilities across the country, including in the Ashanti Region.

Currently, he works as an international business agent and manages financial transactions for organisations and private clients.

*I WILL CONTEST FOR THE POSITION OF NATIONAL TREASURER OF THE NPP- DR ISSAHAKU MOOMIN TAHIRU*

A chartered accountant and a former Municipal Chief Executive Officer of the Wa Municipal Assembly, Dr Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Treasurer of the NPP when nominations are opened for that purpose.

Dr Tahiru, who served as MCE for the Wa Municipal Assembly for 8 years, also previously served as the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Central constituency (2012 and 2016)

He previously worked as an accountant at the Controller and Accountant General Department, having previously worked at the Ghana Revenue Authority.

Dr. Issahaku Tahiru also worked with the Ghana Health Service in the past as the Head of Finance in various facilities across the country, including the Ashanti Region.

He is currently an International Business Agent and handles several financial transactions for organisations and his clients.

The decision of Dr. Issahaku Tahiru to contest as National Treasurer has been welcomed by party folks across various networks and platforms.

He brings to the position direct industry experience and a profound knowledge in Public Financial Management Laws as well as the various regulations.

He also understands the nuances in the management of the finances of entities, having worked as MCE and the head of the constituency campaign team of the NPP in the Wa Central constituency in 2012.

His expertise, amongst others, includes fundraising, business networking, and investment principles.

He is expected to bring all these corporate experiences to bear on the fortunes of the NPP when elected as the National Treasurer of the NPP.
