Police patrol operations in the Akuapem South Municipality are set to receive a major boost following the donation of a brand-new Nissan Z-9 pickup truck to the Aburi District Police Command by the Chairman of Eezzy Group of Companies, Mohammed Raii.
The donation is expected to enhance both day and night patrols in the municipality and strengthen the operational capacity of the police in the area.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Owusu-Bempah, said the robust vehicle would improve the command’s ability to respond to security concerns across the municipality.
He noted that the pickup truck would enable officers to navigate difficult terrain and intensify patrols aimed at maintaining law and order.
“The vehicle will help the police navigate the entire terrain and intensify patrols in the Akuapem South Municipality,” he said.
In addition to the vehicle donation, construction works are expected to begin on an ultramodern bungalow for the municipal police command, as well as washroom facilities for personnel, to further improve the welfare and effectiveness of officers in the area.

Mr Raii, who was accompanied by Lebanon’s Chargé d’Affaires, Ali Hamze, and the President of the African Paralympic Committee, Sampson Deen, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Ghana Police Service.
He expressed satisfaction at contributing to efforts to improve security in Aburi, noting that he would also benefit from enhanced patrols as a resident of the municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South, Paul Osae Offei, also welcomed the donation and urged the police command to ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle.
He called on officers to put the vehicle to good use in safeguarding lives and property within the municipality.
The donation forms part of ongoing efforts by private sector actors and community stakeholders to support security agencies and strengthen policing across the country.
