The Gomoa West Constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the death of its Constituency Communications Officer, Stephen Kwame Oduro.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 23, 2026, and signed by Constituency Secretary Benedict Kofi Wompeh, the party described Oduro’s passing as a significant loss to the constituency and the wider NDC fraternity.
According to the statement, Oduro died on Monday, June 22, 2026, at the Tema General Hospital, where he had been receiving medical care.
The party disclosed that the late communications officer had been unwell for several months, with his condition worsening significantly over the past four weeks, leading to his hospitalisation.
“Despite all efforts to restore his health, he sadly passed on yesterday evening,” the statement said.
The constituency commended Oduro for his dedication and service to the party, describing him as a loyal and hardworking member whose contributions would be remembered.
“The passing of Comrade Stephen Kwame Oduro is a great loss not only to the constituency but to the entire party. He was a committed, loyal, and tireless servant whose contributions, dedication, and passion for the party’s growth and success will never be forgotten,” the statement noted.
The party added that his voice, energy, and unwavering commitment to duty would be deeply missed.
Oduro is survived by his wife and a two-year-old son.
The constituency extended its condolences to the bereaved family and called on party members to remain united and keep the family in their prayers during the difficult period.
The statement indicated that details of funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
