The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed circulating claims suggesting an imminent government reshuffle, urging the public to disregard what it describes as deliberate misinformation being spread on social media and other informal platforms.
In a statement issued on June 6, the party’s Deputy National Communication Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn, cautioned supporters and the general public against sharing unverified reports, stressing that no official communication had been issued regarding any reshuffle.
According to the statement, the party noted that in an era where misinformation spreads rapidly, some individuals continue to deliberately distort information to create confusion and undermine public trust in official sources.
The NDC also rejected a letter purportedly emanating from the Jubilee House, which contained a list of alleged dismissed and newly appointed ministers, describing it as fake.
The statement further highlighted the legal implications of spreading false information under Ghana’s Cyber Security Act, warning that individuals who engage in the dissemination of misinformation could face serious consequences.
