President John Dramani Mahama has approved the confirmation of three Deputy Comptrollers-General of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), elevating them from acting positions to substantive leadership roles within the Service.

The appointments, announced in a press release issued by the GIS on June 24, 2026, follow recommendations from the GIS Governing Council and advice from the Public Services Commission.

The newly confirmed Deputy Comptrollers-General are Evelyn Lolonyo Lotsu, who will head the Finance and Administration Directorate; Faisal Disu, appointed to lead the Command Post and Operations Directorate; and Philip Peter Andoh, who will oversee the Legal Research and Monitoring Directorate.

According to the Service, the appointments are aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and improving operational efficiency within the Immigration Service.

“These appointments were made on the recommendation of the GIS Governing Council and with the advice of the Public Services Commission, recognizing the proven leadership and strong commitment to duty by the officers,” the statement said.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Samuel Basintale Amadu, congratulated the newly confirmed Deputy Comptrollers-General and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute to the Service’s mandate.

“He lauds their professionalism and commitment and expresses confidence that, in their substantive roles, they will continue to strengthen the Service, promote good governance, and advance the nation’s security and development,” the statement added.

The GIS said management will provide full support to the newly appointed deputies as they assume their expanded responsibilities.
