The Managing Director (MD) of NICKSETH Construction Company Limited, Nicholas Frimpong Boateng, has called for stronger collaboration among stakeholders in Ghana’s construction sector, warning that sustained progress in the industry will depend on collective responsibility and coordinated action.
He said the sector’s growth cannot be maintained unless clients, consultants, financial institutions, suppliers, and contractors align their efforts to improve efficiency, professionalism, and project delivery standards.
“We are expecting the industry to collaborate with us to ensure that all stakeholders do their part for our clients, consultants, banks, institutions, and suppliers. We want everyone to work together so that we are able to achieve our goals,” Mr. Boateng said.
He emphasised that Ghana’s development rests on the commitment of its own people, urging industry players to adopt a shared mindset in driving infrastructure expansion.
“This country is for us. No one is coming to build it for us. So we need to have that mentality and do that,” he added.
The call for collaboration came after NICKSETH Construction Company Limited was honoured by the Ghana Chamber of Construction Industry (GhCCI) as the Best Building and Civil Engineering Company of the Year 2024/2025.
The recognition was conferred at an event held at the company’s Appiadu office in the Ashanti Region, attended by the Board of Directors, management, staff, and industry stakeholders.
The citation praised NICKSETH for its consistent excellence in project delivery, technical competence, disciplined execution, and strong quality assurance systems across all stages of construction.
It further highlighted the company’s reputation for professionalism, precision, and reliability, as well as its effective coordination of multidisciplinary teams and sound project management practices.
Mr. Boateng noted that despite progress in the sector, several challenges continue to slow down efficiency and delivery.
He identified delayed payments from both government and private sector clients as a major concern affecting contractors across the industry.
“Some of the challenges in the construction industry include delayed payment from our clients, both private and government,” he said.
He also expressed concern about the lack of professionalism among some actors in the sector, warning that it undermines quality and performance standards.
“People try construction in a certain way — everyone can do it without attaching professionalism. To excel, you need planning, budgeting, and proper forecasting for every project,” he noted.
Mr. Boateng reaffirmed NICKSETH Construction’s commitment to excellence, describing quality delivery as the company’s hallmark.
He stressed that sustaining success in the industry requires not only internal discipline but also strong collaboration across all stakeholders.
“We believe in excellence and quality. That is our hallmark, and we always work towards it. But we also need collaboration from all industry players to succeed,” he said.
The Managing Director expressed gratitude to the company’s Board of Directors, management team, consultants, suppliers, and long-standing partners for their role in the company’s growth.
He said the recognition by GhCCI reflects both internal commitment and external collaboration built over nearly two decades.
“I want to thank the Board of Directors, management, and departmental heads, consultants we have worked with for almost two decades, our suppliers, and the entire industry players. Without their support and teamwork, we would not have come this far,” he said.
The GhCCI award underscores NICKSETH Construction’s standing as one of Ghana’s leading construction firms, recognized for efficiency, quality delivery, and sustained industry confidence.
