The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested two suspected landguards who terrorised developers in the Gomoa Nyanyano and Fetteh enclaves.
The two are believed to have orchestrated and participated in a recent attack on developers, leaving some of them badly injured and causing unrest in the area.
Police said, “Following complaints, investigations led to the arrest of suspects, Abdul Rahman Moro, also known as Umar alias Mafia, and Mohammed Salisu alias “UN” on June 2 and 5, 2026, respectively.”
A statement issued by the Central East Regional Police Command mentioned that “preliminary investigations revealed that suspect Abdul Rahman Moro and three (3) other accomplices unlawfully interfered with construction works at an uncompleted storey building site as they prevented the workers and also seized their working tools unlawfully.”
The suspect, Abdul Rahman, police say, assaulted a complainant with an iron rod, resulting in an injury on his head, “while he demanded an unauthorised amount of GH¢ 350.00 from him for digging on the site on May 18, 2026, at Kassim City near Gomoa Nyanyano.”
Suspect, Mohammed Salisu alias “UN” on the other hand was arrested for “engaging and personally leading some persons to cause harm, terrorise land developers, cause damage to individual properties and also prevented them from developing their lands within the aforementioned areas.”
Both suspects were arraigned before the Ofaakor District Court, where they were remanded into police custody to reappear on June 19 and 22, 2026, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Central East Regional Command have announced intensified efforts to locate and arrest all other accomplices currently at large.
