A total of 34 aspirants have filed their nominations to contest various positions in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) North East Regional executive elections.
The nomination process, which closed on Friday, July 17, 2026, saw interested candidates submit their forms ahead of the regional polls scheduled for August 16, 2026.
A breakdown of the nominations shows that two aspirants are contesting the position of Regional Chairman, while two others are vying for the 1st Vice Chairman slot and another two for 2nd Vice Chairman.
For the secretarial positions, four candidates have filed for Secretary, four for Deputy Secretary, and four for Treasurer.
The race for the organiser positions has also attracted significant interest, with three aspirants contesting for Organizer, four for Youth Organizer, and two for Nasara Coordinator.
The Women’s Organizer position has three contenders, while four aspirants have filed to contest for Communications Officer.
The elections form part of the NPP’s process to elect new regional executives to steer the affairs of the party ahead of its future political activities.
