The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) has received a landmark corporate sponsorship valued at GHS 1,068,455 from 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd to undertake the complete exterior painting and renovation of the Ministry’s national headquarters under the Brighten Ghana Initiative.

The sponsorship, which covers all project costs at no cost to the Government, forms part of 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd’s Corporate Social Responsibility commitment to national development and institutional renewal.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, reminded Ghanaians that agriculture remains the backbone of the nation’s economy and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to transforming the sector through the vision of President John Dramani Mahama’s Agriculture for Economic Transformation Agenda.

He recalled the recent launch of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day at the Ministry and urged all citizens, corporate institutions, and development partners to actively support this year’s celebrations.

“Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. President John Dramani Mahama has made agriculture a central pillar of Ghana’s economic transformation. Through this agenda, we seek to improve livelihoods, create decent jobs, and ensure food security for every Ghanaian.”

The Minister noted that Friday, 4 December 2026, designated as the 42nd National Farmers’ Day, is a special occasion to honour, reward, and celebrate the hardworking farmers whose sacrifices continue to sustain the country.

He appealed to individuals, companies, and institutions across Ghana to contribute generously towards the national celebration.

“Every contribution towards Farmers’ Day is an investment in Ghana’s food security. Supporting our farmers ultimately leads to increased food production, greater agricultural productivity, and more affordable food for every household.”

The Minister expressed profound appreciation to 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd for becoming one of the first major corporate partners to support the Government through the Brighten Ghana Initiative, describing the sponsorship as a powerful demonstration of private sector commitment to national development.

Under the initiative, 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd will fully finance the complete exterior painting and renovation of the Ministry’s headquarters with a total sponsorship valued at GHS 1,068,455 (One Million Sixty-Eight Thousand Four Hundred and Fifty-Five Ghana Cedis).

The project includes all painting materials, labour, equipment, scaffolding, and associated works, with every expense fully absorbed by the company as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

According to the Minister, the Brighten Ghana Initiative represents a broader national movement aimed at revitalising public institutions, rehabilitating ageing infrastructure, and creating cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming environments for citizens.
“This initiative is bringing together government, the private sector, and development partners to brighten our nation, rehabilitate public institutions, modernise our facilities, and improve service delivery to the Ghanaian people.”

He described the Ministry’s headquarters as the home of Ghana’s farmers and said the renovation carries significant symbolic value.

“Today, they are here to paint the national headquarters of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture—the home of every farmer in Ghana. They are undertaking this project entirely free of charge. We are deeply grateful for this remarkable gesture and assure them that the farmers of Ghana appreciate their sacrifice and commitment.”

The Minister further called on other corporate organisations to emulate the example set by 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd by investing in public institutions and national development initiatives.

“We encourage more institutions to join this national effort. Every contribution, regardless of its size, strengthens our agricultural sector, improves food production, and ultimately benefits every Ghanaian.”

He also acknowledged the participation of UMB Bank in supporting the initiative and emphasised that sustainable national development can only be achieved through strong partnerships between the government and the private sector.

“We are equally grateful to UMB Bank for participating in this exercise. Together, through collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility, we can mobilise the resources needed to transform our institutions and put smiles on the faces of every Ghanaian.”

The Ministry reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with 3TREES Ghana Painting Ltd, UMB Bank, and other strategic partners to advance initiatives that promote agricultural transformation, institutional renewal, and national development.

The ceremony concluded with renewed calls for nationwide support towards the 42nd National Farmers’ Day celebrations and broader participation in the Brighten Ghana Initiative as Ghana works toward a cleaner, more vibrant, and more prosperous future.
