Businessman George Essandoh has petitioned the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to investigate a social media user operating under the names ‘wickedblogger’, ‘wickedbloggergh’, and ‘wickedblogger backup’ over allegations of online harassment and the publication of false and defamatory content.

In a petition addressed to the Director-General of the Authority on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, Mr Essandoh alleged that the accounts had repeatedly published false and defamatory material targeting him and his company, SSL Refinery.

According to the complaint, the publications include allegations of fraud, manipulated statements taken out of context, threats and abusive content disseminated across various social media platforms.

Mr Essandoh contends that the publications have caused significant harm to his personal reputation and adversely affected the operations of his business, customer confidence and relationships with business partners.

He further alleged that the online publications have been accompanied by direct harassment from the operator of the accounts, as well as from some individuals whom he believes were influenced by the content shared online.

The businessman is asking the Cyber Security Authority to investigate whether the activities of the accounts constitute breaches of Ghana’s cyber security, data protection or electronic communications laws.

He is also requesting that the Authority consider appropriate regulatory and legal action, including the removal of the disputed content, restrictions on the accounts where necessary and the prosecution of those responsible if any offences are established.

Mr Essandoh said he is prepared to provide screenshots, web links and other documentary evidence to support his allegations during the investigation.

In addition to petitioning the Cyber Security Authority, he has referred the matter to the National Security apparatus and the Cyber Crime Unit for further investigation.

As of the time of publication, the operator of the social media accounts named in the petition had not publicly responded to the allegations.

The allegations remain unproven, and no determination has been made by the Cyber Security Authority or any other competent authority regarding the claims.
