Authorities at Odorgonno Senior High School are calling for urgent support to build a modern science laboratory, citing inadequate facilities that are affecting practical science instruction.

The school currently conducts science practical lessons in its dining hall, which has been converted into a temporary laboratory.

According to school authorities, the arrangement has led to frequent damage to laboratory equipment and disrupted practical sessions.

The school is also facing challenges with the absence of a dedicated practical centre for students pursuing visual arts, limiting opportunities for hands-on learning.

Speaking during the school’s 86th anniversary celebration, Headmaster Patrick Mensah appealed to the government, alumni, corporate organisations, and other stakeholders to support the provision of critical infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning.

He said investing in modern science and arts facilities would significantly improve practical education and better prepare students for higher education and the job market.
