The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed all branches across the country to complete their chapter elections by Sunday, July 19, 2026, warning that chapters that fail to meet the deadline will be disqualified from participating in the upcoming branch elections.

The directive forms part of measures by the party to ensure compliance with its approved rules and regulations governing the 2026 internal elections.

In a statement issued on Wednesday July 8 to Branch Steering Committees through Branch Secretaries, the party’s Director of Finance and Administration and National Representative urged party structures to ensure that all outstanding chapter elections are conducted within the stipulated period.

The party cautioned that any chapter that fails to organise its elections by the deadline will not be allowed to take part in the Branch Elections scheduled for Saturday, August 8, 2026.

According to the advisory, the decision is in line with the rules and regulations for the party’s internal elections as approved by the National Council.

“All Chapter Elections within your Branch are duly conducted on or before Sunday, 19 July 2026,”statement said.

The party further instructed Branch Steering Committees to immediately communicate the directive to all Chapter Executive Committees and ensure strict adherence to the timelines.

The NPP has in recent weeks been preparing its structures for the 2026 internal elections, which are expected to pave the way for the election of constituency and other party executives.

The party said the enforcement of the timelines is necessary to protect the integrity of its internal processes and ensure that all participating structures meet the constitutional requirements before taking part in subsequent elections.
