The University of Ghana has challenged its graduates to harness Artificial Intelligence and innovation to create solutions and drive national development as it conferred degrees on 1,884 students at its July 2026 congregation ceremonies.
The graduating class comprises 157 PhD, 1,429 master’s and 298 undergraduate degree holders.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Development, Professor Felix Ankomah Asante, urged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and uphold the University’s values of excellence and integrity.
She also advised the graduates to apply their knowledge to solve problems and improve lives in an increasingly technology-driven world.
“I urge you to contribute your expertise, experience and resources to sustaining the institution that shaped you and to mentor students who will follow your path. Use your knowledge for the greater good, and embrace new opportunities.
“Harness AI and new technologies which are reshaping industries and transforming the workplace. Global challenges require innovative thinking and collaboration. Use your knowledge not only for personal advancement but to improve the lives of others, to contribute to the development of Ghana and the larger World,” he said.
