The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, hosted a dinner and a mini-concert for the Black Stars on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The head of state engaged with the 27 players selected in the final squad for the tournament during a private dinner before the team’s departure to Ivory Coast today.

In attendance at the dinner were Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, and President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku.

Nana Akufo-Addo utilized his time with the players to encourage them to bring home Ghana’s fifth Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

At the dinner, there was a special performance by Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall, and reggae musician, Stonebwoy, who entertained the players and the technical team.

During the dinner, Andre Ayew, on behalf of the team, presented a jersey signed by all the players to the President of Ghana.

Ghana is placed in Group B at the 2023 AFCON alongside Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique.

The team kicks off its campaign with a match against Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14, at 20:00 GMT.
