Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured traders and businesses that his government will address the challenges they face in accessing funds.

During a tour of the Ablekuma North and Ablekuma West constituencies, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his commitment to making access to capital easier for traders and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

Dr. Bawumia proposed two initiatives to support businesses: a Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund and an SME bank.

He emphasised that funding is the primary challenge facing traders and SMEs, and his government is committed to providing solutions.

The NPP flagbearer engaged with traders and stakeholders during his tour, which included meet-and-greet sessions, stakeholder engagements, and community events.

He reiterated his promise to improve the lives of Ghanaians through a credit score system and emphasised his commitment to supporting traders and SMEs.

“The NPP want to propose a new initiative to support businessmen. We want to support you. We are aware your biggest challenge is funding. Is that not so? You need funding to boost your businesses. Without funding, you’re unable to promote your trade so we are proposing two policies. One is the Women Trade Empowerment Fund. It’s a type of fund to help women support their business.”
