A vote for NDC is a wasted vote – NAPO warns Ashanti voters

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has warned voters in the Ashanti Region against casting their ballots for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, the NDC lacks a genuine commitment to the development of the region, and any vote for the party would essentially be wasted.

“We vote in elections for development,” Dr. Prempeh explained. “If you cast your vote for a political party that does not prioritize your progress, then you have wasted that vote.”

Nicknamed ‘Napo’, the Vice Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) emphasized that only the NPP has the best interests of the Ashanti Region at heart and urged voters to support them.

“The NDC is not committed to the proper development of the Ashanti Region,” Dr. Prempeh declared during a rally in Tweapeasi, within the Odotobiri Constituency, on Tuesday.

He further pointed out that despite receiving significant votes from the Ashanti Region in past elections, the NDC consistently neglects the region’s needs whenever they are in power.

Napo expressed his surprise and disappointment at the NDC’s discriminatory attitude towards the people of the Ashanti Region.

“The number of votes that the NDC obtains from the Ashanti Region during elections is very huge, yet the NDC still consider Ashanti as a region that doesn’t support them.

“The progress of the country, notably the Ashanti Region, always comes to a standstill whenever the NDC occupies the seat of government and I think it’s deliberate”, he fumed.

He said he could give countless examples of how the NDC deliberately introduced some harmful policies to punish the people of the Ashanti Region when they (NDC) were in government.

Citing a key example, Napo said that former President John Kufuor’s NPP administration introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to boost the healthcare of the people.

“But immediately the NDC assumed the mantle of leadership, they fiendishly introduced capitation for NHIS only in the Ashanti Region just to create hardship for the innocent people”.

“This is deliberate because clearly you can see that the NDC and their leaders have something against the people of the Ashanti Region. We should, therefore, reject the NDC on December 7”, he advised.

He said John Mahama, after discriminating against this region, turned around and said, “As for the people in the Ashanti Region even if you construct their roads with gold, they will never appreciate”.

Napo argued that everything shows that the NDC and their leader, John Mahama, does not have the Ashanti Region in their plans “so please don’t vote for the NDC and waste your precious votes”.
