The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has issued a warning about a fake social media account impersonating the organization under the handle “GNPC Invest.”

In a statement dated November 25, 2024, and signed by Corporate Affairs Manager Eric Pwadura, GNPC clarified that it does not operate any investment platforms and disassociated itself from the fraudulent page.

“…GNPC does not operate any investment platforms, and any claims or advertisements suggesting otherwise are false and unauthorized. We strongly caution the public to avoid engaging with this page or sharing personal information.”

GNPC encouraged the public to rely solely on its official website and verified social media platforms for accurate information and updates.

The Corporation has reported the impersonation to the Police Cybersecurity Unit for investigation and further action.

Mr. Pwadura also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious pages or activities that misuse GNPC’s name to prevent potential scams.
