The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced the commencement of “Operation Keep the Lights On” from January 15 to January 31, 2025, across all its operational areas.

The initiative aims to recover arrears, inspect prepaid meters, and enforce compliance with disconnection regulations. ECG emphasized that self-reconnection is illegal, citing Legislative Instrument (LI) 2413, and urged customers to cooperate fully with the exercise.

During this period, ECG’s regional and district offices will offer limited essential services to focus on the operation.

The company reiterated its mandate to legally access installations and called on the public to support its efforts to ensure efficient service delivery.
